Diversity Needed at Woburn, Massachusetts TDBanknorth NA

No diversity in Woburn, Massachusetts Branch

Minority Customer Harassed by three women at a bank with no diversity and no male employees!

For a list of complaints go to the bottom of this page!

TD Banknorth, soon to be TD Commerce Bank, says on their website -
WELCOME TO CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY:
http://www.td.com/corporateresponsibility/index.jsp

Along with a multicultural photo there is this text:
Welcome to TD Corporate Responsibility

"Making a difference together reflects the spirit of our community involvement at TD, as well as our efforts to be a responsible corporate citizen. We believe that everyone has a role to play in building a healthy and prosperous society - and as a major corporation, TD is committed to doing its part and more."

But the reality in Woburn, Massachusetts is that Lisa Ruocco and Donna King control the old Boston Federal Bank on Montvale Ave. with an iron fist and with discriminatory practices including slandering a good customer in front of employees and customers. There are currently five women at the branch, three big empty desks, and a turnover rate of employees that makes it more like a bagel shop than a bank!

And they discriminate against minority people!

Diversity Leadership Council

Our commitment to diversity starts at the most senior levels at TD. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, we have a Diversity Leadership Council (DLC) made up of senior business leaders across TD, who are responsible for setting TD’s overall strategy for diversity and overseeing its progress.

The DLC champions diversity across TD by driving enterprise-wide diversity initiatives and working with businesses and support groups to embed diversity into their business plans. Currently, the DLC is working on six key priorities.

From what we can see at the Woburn, Massachusetts branch of TD Banknorth NA there are no African American employees, no Asian employees, no men, no Hispanics, hardly reflecting the diversity of the Woburn Massachusetts community. Since this is the only TD Banknorth in a business region with the nearest branch offices in Burlington, Reading and Arlington - miles and miles away - the bank has fumbled and stumbled under the mismanagement of
Lisa Ruocco.

FAILURE TO PROVIDE SERVICE:
Ms. Ruocco has been seen in the bank at her desk while the lines at the drive-up and in the bank itself have been very long with customers who wonder why they are being treated so poorly.

Massachusetts General Law 93A protects consumers from "Deceptive Business Practices". Does Ms. Ruocco know this?

MONIES NOT PROPERLY DEPOSITED IN THE ACCOUNT:
There have been at least three documented incidents of monies temporarily missing from accounts. What is that all about? The bank manager, Ruocco, personally took a cash deposit from a customer which was "lost" in space for hours. Why should a customer have to monitor his or her own account every hour of the day for fear that TDBanknorth NA Woburn Massachusetts will misplace their desposits or debit their account even when the account is solvent.

ABUSE OF OVERDRAFT SYSTEM
The new way that Ruocco seems to be generating income is by overdrafting accounts when bank customers put monies in the new TD Banknorth system which allows for deposits up to 11 PM. One customer repeatedly called the bank to ensure that he was properly depositing the money - and he was assured that the new system allowed for deposits credited up to 11 PM.

Immediately TD Banknorth NA Woburn, Mass. started overdrafting items even though monies were deposited according to bank rules.

A fellow who called himself "Pierre" and refused to give a last name, allegedly from the Andover branch where one of the VP's, Lyn Anderson, works, started yelling at a customer that he "overdrafted" his account by depositing too much money! You heard that right. "Pierre" said "You don't understand bank days" and was claiming that only $100.00 was available over a 96 hour period because it was deposited on a weekend.

"Escalation" in Maine did not agree with Pierre. A cash deposit is a cash deposit.

It should also be noted that TD Banknorth, NA only recently started treating cash like it is supposed to be treated. If you deposited cash after 2 PM they would treat it like a check and not credit your account until the next business day or later.
That policy only changed in the spring of 2008.

This is how TD Banknorth NA in Woburn, Massachusetts wants to generate income. They give poor customer service, long lines, and like to overdraft accounts when good customers abide by the bank's own policies.

RETALIATION FOR GOING OVER THEIR HEADS:

If you complain to the President's office or Escalation they put Donna King on you to yell loudly with her glass-scraping-against-the-chalkboard voice screaming out into the bank "You're the talk of the town and none of it is good", harassing a good customer because Lisa Ruocco needs an attack dog to keep good customers in line.

It is sick. It is twisted.

HOWEVER, it is important to note that Escalation is most fair and overruled the practices at the Woburn, Branch, further infuriating the women in power over there.

TERMINATION OF ACCOUNTS:
Lyn Anderson will attempt to terminate your bank account if you have the "audacity" to go over her head for relief and customer service.

Beware of Pierre! Beware of Lyn Anderson. Beware of Donna King. Beware of
Lisa Ruocco.

A complaint with the OCC is now filed on Lisa Ruocco, Donna King and Lyn Anderson.

Daniel Burke was with TD Banknorth and its predecessor, Evergreen Bank, for 21 years.

He saw no reason to leave the Glens Falls institution, where he had worked his way up from marketing director to president. When Evergreen was acquired by Banknorth of Portland, Maine, in 1999, Burke stayed on as president of the New York operations. Banknorth became TD Banknorth when Toronto-based TD Bank Financial Group purchased a controlling interest in the company in 2005.

Then things changed. The Canadian company bought the rest of Banknorth's stock earlier this year, and made some cuts. Burke's job was eliminated.

UNREASONABLE FEES
http://www.my3cents.com/showReview.cgi?id=25833

This is a great post from 3cents.com posted in 2007

If any of you have issues with any bank, file a compliant with the Attorney General for that part of the state - Banks do not want negative marks with the AG. Also, banks are regulated by the Fed Reserve. also file a complaint here:

http://www.federalreserve.gov/pubs/complaints/

Both of the above organizations are very helpful.
One of the things I'm working on is: I am filing complaints w/ both organizations about TD Banknorth. Issues: I checked available balance and took money out. They charged me $25 for a "draw on uncollected" fee. This means the check I deposited did not clear, but my online statement and ATM balance made available 1/2 the money, so I did an ATM withdrawal with plenty of money left over "available".

Another good complaint from 3Cents.com
http://www.my3cents.com/showReview.cgi?id=14402

The fees totaled over 1/5 of the money we live on each month (2/3 of which goes to my mortgage). To add to this, the "snake" lady I talked to at the bank was cold, heartless and extremely rude. Fortunately I joined a credit union today with a $2 overdraft fee which is how it should be AND you can opt out of overdraft so that your card is denied instead of having loan forced on you without consent. Overdraft fees were as follows: $56 on 5/31 (the day I received an overdraft notice, the next day almost $1200 was deposited in my account and this overdraft fee was paid automatically), $84 on 6/16, $84 on 6/19 and $28 on 6/20 (I received my 2nd overdraft notice today).

I've spoken to these cold hearted cut throats and have gotten nowhere with them. I'm a senior citizen, and if I'm not mistaken, it is against federal law to charge overdraft fees on direct deposit Social Security checks. It fell on deaf ears with these people. Since us seniors only get paid once a month, I think this is a rip off on a grand scale and should be stopped. We're talking anywhere between $100. and $200. for the month just in fees if you overdraw your account.

I want every cent this bank stole from me in fees.

TD BANKNORTH CHARGES $134.00 for overdrafting a Granola Bar

Complaints, bank
on my way to a job interview. I stopped at a grocery store to pick up a granola bar [update: and a vitamin water]. I had to put it on my debit card, and the one I used was my (RARELY used) TD Banknorth card. I don't usually keep much money in there because I hate Banknorth, but I bring it with me to go skiing to secure demo equipment without risking my real bank accounts. As soon as I got to Boston for my interview, I deposited $10 to cover the $8 I charged at Shaws, even though I knew there was supposed to be money in the account.

RIPOFF REPORT

TD Banknorth Overdrafted check even though I made a deposit Lewiston Maine

*Consumer Comment ..From The Ignorant One

I sent another message back, stating that this is a devious practice and I that I felt lied to by their own people, who had told me I would not have a fee assessed.
I would strongly encourage others to bank elsewhere. They couldn't even get my name right, despite the fact that I wrote my first and last name clearly on the e-mail. They don't care about customers.

If this was my fault, and I didn't cover the check the day it hit my account, fine. I'd pay the overdraft fee. However, I did and according to their own people I should not have been assessed that.

I have had other minor problems with this bank as well, including the fact that I was told by one teller that my debit card would work, and that the AVAILBLE balance was incorrect. I went to the grocery store to pick up some items, and was embarassed because my card was declined even though I had just made a deposit. So I had to go back to the bank where another teller was able to straighten everything out. So now, since I have so little faith in the tellers, (except the one that fixed everything), after I make a deposit, I go to the ATM in the lobby to assure that everything is correct.

Thank you for your time in reading this!

Bank employee admits to stealing from elderly

North Andover resident Jayne Gorrie, 54, an employee of TD Banknorth, has admitted to stealing thousands of dollars from elderly customers' accounts, police said.

Gorrie has not been arrested but is expected to be arraigned in court shortly under charges of three counts of larceny over $250 against victims over 60 years in age, according to Andover Police Sgt. Don Pattullo.

Gorrie allegedly stole more than $80,000 from three elderly TD Banknorth customers, spending the money on casino trips and lottery scratch tickets, police said.

"That's what she told us," said Pattullo. "She just got in over her head, apparently, and found an easy way to get some money."

Pattullo said Gorrie has been cooperative with authorities and has admitted to stealing from customers in their 80s who relied on her to handle tasks such as paying bills. The stolen sums ranged from $7,000 to $69,000, Pattullo said.

Police became aware of Gorrie's activity after TD Banknorth security officials informed them of an internal investigation of her conduct spawned from a customer complaint.
